Development of the Nurses’ Training Institute
Significant Milestone
1950 : Establishment of the Nurses’ Training Institute with an intake of 50 students to undergo old ANM Course with an affiliation of Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi & Assam Nursing Council as well as with approval and recognition of Govt. of Tripura.
1981 :- Introduction of MPW (F) Course for 1 ½ years duration with an affiliation of Indian Nursing Council under the Assam Nursing Council as well as with an approved of state Govt.
1985 :- Introduction of MPS (F) 6 months Course with an affiliation of Indian Nursing Council, State Govt. approval & the Assam Nursing Council.
1974 :- Commencement of 3 ½ years GNM Course with an affiliation of Indian Nursing Council, state Govt. and West Bengal Nursing Council.
1994 :- The Nurses’ Training Institute is affiliated to Tripura Nursing Council, Indian Nursing Council with the approval of state Govt.
2005 :- Establishment of well furnished student Nurses’ Hostel in the AGMC & GBP Hospital campus with adequate lighting, ventilation & 24 hrs water supply.
2020 : The Nursing Institute owned a government permanent physical Establishment in the G + 8 Building, IGM Hospital Complex.
2021 : Establishment of Midwifery skilled laboratory as per guidelines of GOI, approval of state Govt. and with financial support of National Health Mission, Tripura.
2022 : Submitted proposal for up gradation into College of Nursing with the financial assistant of GOI.
